A virtual assistant (VA) is a self-employed professional who supports your business remotely. Think of it as having an extra pair of expert hands for the tasks that don't need to be done by you — admin, inbox, scheduling, systems, research, and more.

The best starting point is anything repetitive: inbox triage, calendar management, meeting prep, invoice chasing, formatting documents, uploading content, or booking travel. We'll map this out together on your discovery call.

It can feel that way at first — completely normal. I use secure password managers, sign NDAs as standard, and set up access in a way that keeps you fully in control. Most clients say they wish they'd done it sooner.

For me personally: £30/hr on a monthly retainer or £35/hr for ad-hoc work. For matched VAs, the hourly rate varies depending on their experience and specialism — I'll always quote you a fully-inclusive hourly rate upfront so there are no surprises.

No. Retainers are month-to-month with 30 days' notice either side. Ad-hoc work is pay-as-you-go — perfect for testing the waters or one-off projects.

Unused hours roll over for one month, so a quieter week doesn't feel like wasted money.

Never. You'll always see an itemised invoice, and any software subscriptions or expenses are agreed with you in advance.

It's like a mini recruitment process, run by me. I get to know your business and the person you'd love to work with, then source, vet and shortlist VAs from my trusted network — so you're introduced to two or three great options, not fifty CVs.

Agencies typically rotate VAs and pass on high markups. My matchmaking is bespoke — you build a real, ongoing relationship with your VA, and the pricing stays transparent.

Usually 1–3 weeks from discovery call to first introduction, depending on how niche the requirements are.

I stay involved for the first 30 days and will happily re-match at no extra cost if things aren't clicking.

I work UK business hours, Monday to Friday. Urgent bits outside of that are handled by prior arrangement.
